with Dana Doty In the early 1200’s a Master named Zhang San Feng, as a student of the WuDang Monastery in China, took 5000 years of Taoist internal healing knowledge and developed a moving meditation known now as WuDang San Feng Tai Ji. This is the origin of Tai Ji. Tai Ji is the culmination of three levels of energy movement and meditations, known as Wu Ji, Tai Ji and Liang Yi, through which the true healing purpose of Tai Ji is gained. Class description: We will share three classes in one: sitting, standing and moving meditations, known as Wu Ji, Qigong and Tai Ji, all combining to form the ultimate in energy rejuvenation while finding peace, health and happiness from within. In this class, you will: - Build upon Taoist seated visualization techniques for finding stillness and reconnection to your true nature, your original vitality, where your own natural healing abilities reside.
- Learn a Medical Qi Gong, called Tai Ji Qi Gong 18, part 1. Based on historical healing movements and uplifting visualizations for a deep sense of well-being, this form has been scientifically proven, studied and used in hospitals around the world since 1979 for revitalization of patients from nearly 100 different ailments and diseases. Now practiced by over 10,000,000 people, for rebuilding and unlocking the energies that keep us feeling ‘stuck’ or less than our happy healthy selves
- Learn Tai Ji- 5 pattern, an easy form to begin your introduction to Tai Ji and its wonderful healing benefits and relaxing expression of movement. This is based on the Yang family style of Tai Ji of the past several hundred years.
This class is designed to help beginning and intermediate level students grow into a deeper sense of peace and harmony while also sharing the basic theories of Tai Ji, its history and its healing capabilities for prevention and longevity. Just bring water, comfortable clothing and a cushion to sit on. 10% of class fee goes to charities.
